I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw an advertisement for EatLean’s crunchy cheese snacks. To be frank, they looked absolutely sensational, and I almost immediately decided that I wanted to try them.
I took to their website, and ordered the cheese bites tester pack (one of each of the three flavours, for £5.45) and the cheese snack bar 6 pack (£2.25). Factoring in shipping and a small discount as it was my first order, my final came to £10.88. They were shipped fairly quickly and packaged nicely, with an ice pack for freshness.

I was straight away slightly taken back by the portion size. The bags were quite small and were mostly filled with air – and the snack bars were quite small, too. Nonetheless, I was still looking forward to trying them.
The classic crunchy cheese bites were incredibly moreish – tasty and cheesy. Some of the pieces had a slightly burnt taste. Overall, they were exactly what you’d expect for what is essentially just baked cheese.
The chilli cheese bites were almost identical to the classic ones. The chilli flavour was very different to the sweet chilli sort of flavour that I was expecting. All in all, they are pretty much the same as the normal bites with a kick of pepper. The flavour isn’t too spicy, and is actually quite enjoyable. Once again though, you do get the occasional burnt flavour coming through.
The truffle cheese bites were absolutely horrid. I’ve got to be completely transparent, though – I’ve never tried truffle before, and honestly have no idea what it’s supposed to taste like. Either way, after trying these I have absolutely no interest in trying real truffle. These were the only flavour of the three that lacked the moreish cheesy flavour.
As for the cheese snack bars – I’m not really sure what to say. They certainly had a satisfyingly cheesy flavour, but there was an odd texture to them. It was just like biting into a thick slice of mature cheddar cheese, but something was off. All I can put this down to is EatLean’s recipe – as their cheese is specially developed to be much healthier for you – being low in fat and calories, while still being high in protein.
Overall, I can’t say I’d recommend these products. At £1.95 a bag (or £2.25 for the truffle flavour) I think they are fairly overpriced for what they are. Granted, given the moreish flavour, I wouldn’t eat too many at one time – which does help mitigate the small portion size. Still though, I was definitely disappointed with what I got for my money.
It is worth noting that the cheese bites will work out cheaper if you buy a multipack – but if you’re not sure that you’ll like them, you don’t want to be spending £22.35 on 12 bags.
So to conclude, I am pretty disappointed with what I thought was going to be a super tasty new snack. I didn’t particularly enjoy any of the flavours nor the snack bars – and, as I mentioned, was disappointed with the portion size too. I don’t think they represent good value for money.
You never know, though. These may be your new favourite thing. At the end of the day, they just aren’t for me. Should you try them and they are indeed your new favourite, then of course you’d likely be happy paying for them. Unfortunately they aren’t my new favourite thing though, so I cannot recommend these.
Should you decide to try them, or have tried them in the past: let me know what you thought of them!
